Last week saw Anstey Nomads travel away to Melton Town to face the title favourites. The first half was evenly matched with both teams having chances but failed to convert. A couple of Melton players picked up yellow cards in the first half for some quite poor challenges which would cause them problems later on.
The second half started at a good tempo, much like the first half, with once again both teams creating chances. The breakthrough came for Nomads when James Hicks found space to execute a tidy finish past the Melton keeper. Cosmos Mathwasa produced the second goal with an energetic run which saw him round the keeper and tap the ball in.
Melton's challenegs again came to cause them problems after this point with two players being dismissed after receiving a second yellow card. After a disappointing draw with Irchester the week before, the win at Melton was the perfect response.
This week see's the Nomads back at home vs Long Buckby. Earlier in the season Anstey narrowly beat Long Buckby 4-3 away from home after being behind most of the game. Buckby sit towards the bottom of the table but have had some good results and will be keen to take points away from Cropston Road.
